Greeks and other ancient civilisations have been utilising propolis for centuries as it is abundant in its medicinal benefits!

New Zealand Propolis is a powerful naturally occurring source of antioxidants made by bees to protect the hive. Research shows that New Zealand Propolis has the highest readings of flavonoids (antioxidants) when compared to Propolis from around the world. That way, you know that with NutriNZ you are getting the best available.

Research has shown that propolis supplementation helps to support the immune system and provide protection from free radical damage. Plus due to this conveniant oral spary form, it also helps to:

  • Support respiratory health

  • Soothe sore throats and freshen breath

New Zealand UMF 15+ Certified Manuka Honey is world renowned for its powerful  and plentiful benefits:

  • Rich in antimicrobial and antiviral properties, Manuka Honey can help fight off harmful bacterium species and viruses that threaten the body, thus reducing the risk of both bacterial and viral infections.
  • Scientists have proven that Manuka Honey is rich in powerful antioxidant properties. Helping to protect the body against oxidative stress and cellular damage.
  • It has also been found that due to these antioxidants, Manuka Honey can help strengthen the immune system, especially when combined with propolis.

Illicium verum (Aniseed) fruit/seed oil is used in traditional Chinese and folk medicine to treat things such as respiratory infections, nausea, constipation and other digestive issues.

Syzygium aromaticum (Clove) oil is high in antioxidants, including eugenol, which can help reduce oxidative stress. It promotes oral health, thanks to the antimicrobial properties, which can help to kill harmful bacteria.

Commiphora myrrha (Myrrh) oil has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. Scientists are now testing the oil’s potential uses, including for pain, infections, and skin sores.

Mentha piperita (Peppermint) oil has been used for thousands of years by natives to Europe and Asia, not only for its minty taste, but to:

  • Relieve Clogged Sinuses

Where is Manuka honey sourced from?

The Manuka tree is native to New Zealand, and a variety of Italian and Carniolan honey bees collect the nectar from it producing the distinctive Manuka honey.

How can you be sure the honey is purely Manuka nectar, and not a mix with other flora?

We firstly enusure the bees are placed in manuka dense areas and make sure placement as at a time when the trees are starting to flower (which is at a time when few other flora do). It is also in a bees nature to stick with one nectar source until depletid. Then to check, we of course test the pollen count of our honey.

What does the term ‘active’ Manuka honey mean?

Manuka honey is renound for its anitbacterial properties (which is what makes it so widly used for healing and woundcare). These antibacterial properties are down to the Methylglyoxal (aka, MGO, MG) content, which is measured in parts per million (ppm). The higher the level, the more effective the honey.

Antibacterial Activity Explained -

All honey has antibacterial activity due to what is commonly called Peroxide Activity (PA). However, Mānuka Honey has a special, unique antibacterial activity called Non-Peroxide activity (NPA).

People are often interested in the anti-bacterial activity of Mānuka honey. Research has shown that NPA is very stable in Mānuka Honey even when it is exposed to light and heat. We know that there is a direct relationship between NPA (antibacterial activity) and the level of Methylglyoxal (MGO) which is a key signature marker found in Mānuka honey. However, while there is a relationship between the two, MGO is not the sole cause of NPA in Mānuka Honey.

The UMFHA has developed internationally recognized testing procedures to confirm the presence of key signature markers – MGO, Leptosperin and DHA – found in genuine, pure, quality Mānuka honey from New Zealand.
